Bugabira School opened in February 2012 with 135 enrollments, from Baby Class to Primary 5. Primary 6 and Primary 7, the final two years of primary school education in the Ugandan system, will be developed over the next few years as our current pupils progress.
Many of our older students have either had no previous education or have come from government Universal Primary Education schools, where large class sizes and limited English tuition hold back academic development. However, even after only one term, parents and teachers have noted a huge improvement in students, notably in spoken and written English.
In term 2 2012, Bugabira School will be opening a boarding section to accommodate those students who struggle to travel to class each day, often on foot. You can read about the development of the boarding facilities on the Current Projects page.
